Morning Pages Entry – April 02, 2014

So, here we are, and it finally feels like winter is over this week. This is like the third day in a row, we’ve been well over zero degrees, and it looks like most of the snow is melting. I may actually have to start thinking about working on the boat. It would be really nice, to get that leaky front window fixed, and maybe now is a time to start talking about dealing with the boat. I’m always a bit anxious about dealing with the boat this time of year, because I think there’s going to be so much work. But, the regular stuff, is not actually all that bad. I should try and get up there a bit earlier, and do some of the other work though. If I could get that stupid front window fixed while it’s still under a tarp, that would be a good thing. I have to know, that it’s going to be rain free for at least a few days before I start working on it. I suppose, I could do it, when I’m staying up there this summer. Do some writing in the morning, then work on the boat in the afternoon. That is what I really wanted to do this year. I wanted to have enough books out there, that I had a bit of money coming in, then I wouldn’t be so stressed about the cash, or feeling guilty about taking some down time. As it looks now, I’m a bit under the gun with the money thing still. My book is taking longer to finish than I had hoped, and I’m not hitting my book a month plan yet. I could still get that in motion. I’m getting closer to having this first one finished. It woiuld be so good to have it out there. I don’t think there’s too many more new words to write. I do still need an ending, and I have the new intro almost finished. Maybe only a couple thousand words for the intro. The ending could be around 10K words or so. Not really sure, as I’m not positive about how it will end. Or more exactly, I’m not sure about what I want to reveal. I do want it to have a good ending, with some resolution, so the readers will feel satisfied. Maybe, Chaz could find his family here? But, I would like to introduce a few new interesting things as well. Maybe like the whole patient zero thing. Enough new interesting things, to intice readers to buy the next books. That’s legit I think. I do have a number of ideas for subsequent books, so dropping a bit of a teaser, or a few teasers in the end of this first book wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing. Could be good for the readers and me combined. Yep. So, I played in the GoodLife club championships last night, and lost my first match to Bob Martin. My shoulder is killing me, and I couldn’t quite play all the shots I wanted to. Either way, it was a pretty good match. We went 5 and I lost 12-10 in the end. Not so bad. I was headed for the consolation round anyways. I just got there a bit quicker. Will have to play Dean or David S in my next match, next week. Which should be OK. I’ll be a bit more motivated for that. Probably won’t play at all until then. My goal at the moment, is weight loss. It seems to be moving in the right direction. I seemed to be around 173 when I checked the scales this morning. That’s the first time it’s budged in a while. Definitely a good sign. My goal target is 155. I’d be pretty jacked, if I can get there and put muscle on at the same time. Definitely a force for reckoning on the squash courts at that point. Should put me on track for the B division come next year. That’s the big goal at this point. Can’t get there at the weight I’m carrying around now. Being 52 and moving up to the B group next year would be pretty cool. Kicking the butt of the current “B” chumps (Game, David C, Keith etc) would be sweet as well. There are so many things lacking in their games, and I’m definitely smarter around the courts then they are, there’s no reason why I couldn’t school the bunch of them. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
