It looks like I have a better tool for doing my editing with. It appears that Google Docs, has a more intelligent spell checker than WriteMonkey. It can tell the difference between then and than, or between there and their and they’re. Which is pretty cool. It’s obviously using some of googles own search engine technology in it’s spell checker. I like that. I ran some of my already edited scenes through, and it found a number of mistakes I had missed. And, I had already checked those through with WriteMonkeys spell checker and I had manually read through them once as well. So, that’s kinda cool. It should save me a bunch of time. Anyways, Aunt AnneMarie and Uncle Joe were here for a visit yesterday. AnneMarie is looking for house here in London. She’s been looking for a house in a few different cities outside of Toronto since her divorce. I can’t imagine her every actually buying one, but that’s what she’s doing now. Will be interesting to see what she does. It got me a bit out of my routine yesterday, but not terribly so. I managed to stick pretty much to my routine. We went out to lunch, and I ate my breakfast much earlier, which put me off my eating routine for the rest of the day. I ended up eating a bit too many snacks by the end of the day, but that’s alright. I probably should have just put off eating my bacon and eggs breakfast till around supper time, but at least I didn’t eat any crappy stuff. I had a Ceaser chicken salad when we went out to lunch, and that was ok. They both seemed pretty happy to be out in the city. So, yesterday, I also asked Dave and Mark if they’d help me edit the book, and Dave said he would give me as much time as he could. Mark, I haven’t heard yet, but he would have been asleep by the time I messaged him yesterday. We’ll see what he has to say today. It would be nice, if I can get this to the point where I can pay them for the work. If I can get the books selling enough to make a profit, then it will definitely be worth it to pay them for their efforts. Especially if they have good stuff to add, and ideas for making things interesting. I would really like that. It would be nice, if this could be really profitable enough to spread the money through the family. It is a business, and those doing work for it, should make some money. I would really like that. If I could take it to the point where it’s making tons of money, then it would be really nice for all of them to be making tons of money. Maybe both of them would like to write books as well. I can’t imagine that they wouldn’t. I’m sure, they would be amazing writers, with their backgrounds. And, if I can pave the way, and make it truly successful, then I’m sure they could do the same. Then, we could edit each others stuff. Or maybe at some point, it would be more beneficial to outsource the editing. Although, I suppose, if the money was coming in nicely, then it would make sense to do whatever it is that we wanted to. Whatever was the most fun for us. I could, even drag Tim into this. He’s another one, that would likely make a first rate writer. He’s already enjoying doing the writing for the fishing thing. I wonder if he would like doing the writing for fiction. It could be anything that tweaks his interest. There is lots of potential here. We’ll just have to see how it goes. It does give you a bit more motivation to become good at this now doesn’t it. If you can make a go of it, then you have a bunch of potential other writers starting off as editors that could make a go of it as well. That’s sort of a cool though. We could end up being a consortium of sort. Helping each other, not only with the practical stuff, but also being a sounding board for each others stories. And, it would give us a good reason to actually talk to each other more. We are family and all, and that wold be a pretty nice side benefit as well. Something to think about.
