A new record writing streak again today, but I feel like I may not have much to write about. Although, maybe I do. The highlight yesterday, was my squash match with David, who currently has the number 2 spot on our team. I ended up in a very tight match with me winning 3-2. He actually had me at 10-8 in the 5th game, but I managed to come back, and win 12-10. It was a pretty exciting finish . . . at least for me. That moved me up to the number 2 spot on the team. I had hoped to play an official challenge with Mark tomorrow, but apparently he’s got himself a bit of a cold. ahh well. I’ll get to him later. I told those guys, I was coming for the number 1 spot, and I’m getting pretty close now. I’m playing Eric on Tuesday, so that should be interesting as well. Got to make sure I beat him to keep my current spot, and that David doesn’t end up slipping even further down the ladder. He’s a hard guy to read, so I’m not sure if it still bothers him to be playing the “C” division or not. It’s not like he’s won all his matches or anything, but he’s so quiet, and doesn’t say much, it’s pretty hard to tell what he’s thinking. Besides, by second ulterior goal here, is not to just take the number one spot on the team, it’s to push the other team players to play better. The team slacked off a bit at the end of the season, and some of the other teams we’re catching us in ability I think. That’s what can happen when your the top team, and everyone else is playing catchup. I think our top guys like Mark & David, weren’t really getting pushed all that much. If I can keep going with my fitness routine here, then I think I can really push those guys to play better. Playing David yesterday, was no easy task, and I was pretty spent during the match. I know, I can definitely get my fitness up there so much better, that matches like that will become easier for me. Although, it’s good if he can push me as well. The Tuesday house league matches will be good for that possibly as well. I play on winning that “B” division as well this time round. No more sloppy finals with guys like Gabe and Keith playing each other. We’ll get some real squash going on there. I know I can crush those guys, if I get my fitness back. Me at 160 pounds should be pretty impressive on the squash courts. Then, I can start fixing my backhands as well. Right now, it’s still a weak spot. And, for that matter, why stop at 160 pounds. I think likely around 155 pounds but with lots of muscle is the right way to go. I should shoot for that. Fixing my core is another big thing as well. I’m really tired of my back going out so often, and it’s really just because my core is so bad. Keep pushing the weights, get those back up to some big numbers, and then maybe move on to something beyond the GoodLife FitFix program. I do think, that once I get down to 170 lbs, that I should start throwing in the Yoga routine from P90X on Wendesday nights. I know that my flexibility is not all that fantastic, and that makes a difference on the squash courts as well. Being able to reach and lunge a little bit more for shots is pretty helpful. Just make sure, when I do the Yoga, that I don’t overdo things, especially at the beginning of it. Now, enough of the physical training stuff, you need to get writing and reading some time soon. Remember, we want to push out 1 book a month going into the new year. That way by summer, we should have 5 books out there, and seeing a bit of money anyway coming in. Then, I can spend a bit more time messing around on the boat and getting things fixed up the way it deserves to be. I do really need to do a serious fixing and cleaning on it this year. It would be very nice to get those cushions taken care of. Not sure, if we should use the guy down the road here, or get Sam in Sarnia to take care of things. But, it should really be a priority item. Along with a bunch of other things.
