So, a bit of a slow start to the day, but let’s see if we can make up some time. Quick yesterday recap. I did seem to get back on track with writing yesterday. Not exactly the fast track, but I did manage to get out 1500 or so words, so that’s not terrible. I would like to have a 10K weed sometime in the near future, but that doesn’t seem to be happening anytime too soon. Yesterday was also another disappointing day on the squash courts, as I lost again in house league to Chris McKenzie 3-0. It wasn’t even close again. It’s hard to put my finger on exactly what is going on, but it felt like I reacted too slow to everything, and all my shots were way too loose. McKenzie was moving well, and hitting shots with good pace. Kind of frustrating overall. I did eat better yesterday, resorting to only a single piece of dark chocolate at the end of the day as a treat, which isn’t too bad. I feel pretty good today, and definitely not as sore as I did yesterday, or Monday. Finally getting the wheat out of my system that I indulged in on Sunday at the Superbowl party at Tims. I do seem to have a bit of a sore hip still, but not the back pain that seemed to result from eating at Tims. Things are beginning to feel normal again. It definitely takes days to recover from those kinds of nasty indulgences. I did read a bit of the paleo for athletes books yesterday, and I think I need to start integrating those practices into my daily eating / exercise regimen. It’s more about focusing the carbs I do eat, around my workout activities. Both before, during, and after. I think that may help a bit with my performance on the court, but nothing like losing the extra 25 pounds I’d like to, and get my weight down to 160, which is where I should be. I need to get that back on track, regardless of how long it takes me. That needs to be my ultimate goal. Looks like there will be a big visit here this summer from the brothers, so it would be nice to look that good when the family is around visiting. And it would be good to be at that weight for the summer as well. Would look pretty cool to look that good without a shirt on. Need to work on that. Will hit the weights again tonight at GoodLife doing FitFix. Haven’t done that in a few days, since I’ve been playing so much squash. That could be part of my problem these days. Just too much squash, and not enough recovery time afterwards is taking it’s toll on me. I haven’t had that boundless energy feeling in a long time. Not truly, since the summer after I finished P90X. I’ve had glimpses of it, but nothing full on. That would really help on the squash courts. A feeling of unlimited energy to just go go go. Instead of just feeling letharthic and taking up space on the courts. Need to get my mental game in the space as well. Don’t forget the lessons you’ve learned from Tony Robbins. Should do some more of those tapes, and reinforce the lessons I’ve learned. Maybe need to listen to them more in the car or something. Instead of music all the time. When I’m in the car, and just driving around my myself, it might be good to put his tapes on and just listen, as a bit of reinformcement. You’ve got a whole bunch of his stuff. You should reinforce it, and listen to it all actually surrounds you with good thoughts of achievement and doing better with your life. That’s really a good thing. Surrounding yourself with the ways of thinking and doing that you want to have for yourself are important. Erase those moments of self doubt, and get yourself going. You need to watch that motivation tape again, and get your self mentally tougher. That’s as important as physical toughness for sure. Something that I need to do on a more regular basis. Sure, it’s important to be writing on a regular basis. But, it’s also important to train your mind and body to be a more successful person. That’s what’s going to get you ahead, and change your life to be more the way you want it to be.
