Well, yesterday, was a pretty good day. The Keeches came over for dinner and a little entertainment. That was fun. Always nice when we manage to make time to see those guys away from the boat. Brian was talking with Jennifer a lot about finances, and mentioned the Wealthy Barber book as one of the things she should read. I had that book years ago, and thought it was a great thing to read. I was always taken by the fact, that we never talk to our own kids about finances, and it’s one of the things that schools never really teach, and here I was with a 20 year old daughter, and I’ve never really talked with her about finances. I told her, the wealthy barber was probably a good place for her to start. I read it years ago, and used to have a copy of it. I went looking for mine, but couldn’t find it. There’s likely a new version of it out anyways, that would make more sense for her to read. Yesterday, was also good, as I managed to bump myself up the squash team ladder to the 2nd spot by beating Mark in a challenge match. It was a pretty good match. I won the first game quite decisively, and the second one by almost as much. Mark came back and won the third game, but I managed to put him away in the fourth. I have to play Eric today, to hold on to the number 2 spot, and then tomorrow, I’ll play David again, to see if I can manage to grab the number 1 spot from him again. We’ll see how that goes. My eating and drinking the past few days hasn’t been that great, but we’ll see what we can do about getting back into my regular habit, starting today. I have a bunch of Paleo pulled pork made up in the fridge, and another batch in the freezer downstairs. That should help, with having something for the 3rd meal of the day, when Karen doesn’t cook, or decides to bring home some fast food junk. Now that holidays are over, and it’s back to the regular routine, I should be able to get back to healthier eating, although, I was pretty good over these holidays. Overall, I would have to consider it a major success on the eating front, compared to most holidays in the past. I had a couple of days, when the chocolate monster got the better of me, but for the most part, junkie food was a non-issue this Christmas. And the drinking was only a little out of hand on a few days. That’s awesome really, so myself, and the team should be in pretty good shape for the rest of the squash season going forward. That should be interesting, as league starts up again this Thursday, and we’ll see what kind of shape the other teams are in. I suspect things will get pretty competitive again, as we’re now into the second half of the season, and everybody whose going to get into shape and get their game mojo back should have done so by now. I’m predicting, that we will steamroll over the rest of the teams this second half. Now, that I’m playing at a top level with David and Mark, that gives us a pretty overwhelming top 3. And, I still have 20 lbs more to drop. That’s quite a long goal, but certainly attainable. It will be awesome to see how I feel playing squash at 160 lbs. And last, but certainly most important, I need to get my writing career into full swing. It’s been prorastinated about for far too long, and it’s definitely time to shite or get off the pot. No doubt about that. There are just too many success stories floating around the writingsphere to ignore any longer. I know I can do it, and I know I can be incredibly prolific once I get a head of steam behind me. Too many things in my life will be better for me to ignore, and not write any longer. Time with family, more lesisure time at the boat, more time to work on the boat, more money to do fun things with the family. So many great things can come together, to let this opportunity slip buy any longer. The Tony Robbins tapes will help, and believing in myself, and my own abilities will ultimately carry me to where I want to be.
