So, here we are on the day 3 of what will turn out to me my 3 days in a row of writing 1000+ words on the novel. Yesterday I write over 1300 words. Looks like I’ll be aiming for 1400 words at some point today. Didn’t time myself yesterday, which I should have I think. Maybe should aim for 1500 words before I stop today. That would be a good number to hit in under an hour. Although, if I know where I’m ging witih the story, then 2000 words wouldn’t be unreachable withing an hour. I left off the story yesterday, with our heroes in a car surrounded by zombies, currently partially curshed under a truck full of screaming pigs, and a horde of zombie feasting on the pigs. The next step, I think, is to have them emerge from the car and make a desperate attempt to make it down to the end of the bridge on foot, while fighting off zombies that are mostly distracted buy not totally distracted by feasting on pigs. Christa at this point has somewhat gone into a catatonic state from the shock of it all, so Alex is carrying her, and trying to fight alongside Chaz as they make their way through the mob. I think would should happen next, is they make it partially across the bridge, and things begin to look promising, but the crowd of zombies eventually begin to overtake them. Christa though at some point comes awake and does something to fend the zombies off. Something about her have make it through the zombie acenssion process, that gives her a power of the horde, should make the rest of their trip easy in terms of zombies, but cause Chaz to no trust her in the least. The rest of their trip to Fort Knox will centre the main conflict between Chaz and Christa. She should probably have some sense of what she is, and what she can do, but Chaz although knowing that she’s keep them safe still feels very uneasy about her and what she really is. I don’t think I want to give away too much of what the zombies are capable here, as that should be for the rest of the story, but, just enough to make things interesting. That should be enough writing ideas to get me going onto the next phase. The trick, I think, is to focus myself into being as creative as possible during that period, and be open to all kinds of possibilities. Think of all the twists and turns that take place in an episode of Dr. Who. They throw all kinds of twists and turns and ideas into the mix, to make for an interesting story. It doesn’t seem all that plausable sometimes, but they do it well enough, that most people I think will suspend their disbelief and go along with the story. Yesterday, was also the first day of the second second of house league. It didn’t go very well for me, as I ended up playing a new guy Cam, was a pretty good player. He was definitely quicker, and hit with more pace then I did. I’d say, he was at the level of fitness, that I’m currently aiming for, which is encouraging, as it gives me a sense of what my level of play will get to once my fitness is where I want it to me. I did figure out how to deal with him I think though, the problem was though, that it took me 3 games to do that. 3 games that I lost. I just needed to slow down the pace a bit, and lob a bit more at him, when I wasn’t in a good postition, and wait for my opportunities to hit winners. That seem to work part way through the 3rd game, but too little too late. It didn’t help, that my right achilles was acting up yesterday. It’s been gradually getting worse the last week or so, and yesterday was the worst it had been. It’s quite uncomfortable right now to just walk down the stairs. I’ll just keep icing it today, and perhaps take some time off from abusing it. It seemed to really start to get bad from the day I did Yoga last week. It was sore before, and I think the Yoga may have just pushed it over the edge. Will have to hold off on that workout I think for a while.
