Well, today is off to one good start, I’ve gotten a good nights sleep, by going to bed a bit earlier the last few nights, and I’m no up and working at 7:30. I should be able to get my morning journal done, and maybe do some plotting on my current novel before 8:00. It would be nice to have say 10 plot points to work towards for the day, and say to write 500 words on average for each plot point. Those would basically be short scenes each. My goal, is to be a little more creative on the plotting side, and come up with some interesting places to take the story. I find, that when I’m actually doing the writing, that I’m more concerned about the mechanics of how to actually to do the writing, and it’s taking away a bit from the spontaniety of what I’m trying to do. I want to come up with something interesting, that draws the reader along, but has some substance as well. I think doing a bit of the plotting ahead of time I should be more free to write interesting details later. I do believe, that I enjoy the plotting a bit more then the actual writing. I remember, that when I first started doing the the writing, that I really enjoyed coming up with interesting ideas as to where the story will go. Those ideas were very high level, or big picture type of plotting though. Which is kind of cool and fun to do, but I think, I would also like to do some of that at the more detailed level, to help guide my daily writing. I feel like I’ve been a bit lost with some of the detailed day to day writing. A bit of direction as to where to take that work would be quite helpful. I think, that I will be Scrivener today or shortly as well. There are a few things in yWrite that I’m not that keen about at the moment. It is a good tool, but things like not catching my spelling errors as I go along, sort of keep bugging me. I think, that since I need to organize my chapters a little better anyways, that perhaps I should do that will I convert all of my current novel from yWriter to Scrivener. Another good thing I think about yesterday, was that I did give Tony Robbins another shot, and listened to one of his tapes again. That helped a bit I think in getting my head into a better space. It didn’t help getting any more words on the page, but perhaps this new approach to a little micro plotting ahead of time will help in that regard. I did, also, on another good note eat very well yesterday. No junk, no chocolate, and it really wasn’t all that hard. Once I get a little bit more of my own space around me, it’s amazing, how much better I feel, and more in control of doing the good healthy things. My squash is still suffering from my ankle, although I think the brace I borrowed from Samantha yesterday was a big help in yesterday’s match. It wasn’t perfect, but once I got going with it and things warmed up it was fine. In the first game or two, I made a few movements that hurt pretty good, which had me worried, but that pain was short lived. Maybe going forward, now I can get back into a better rhythm. I think I may use the brace tonight, and do some yoga with it. The last time I tried doing the yoga, I think is what really aggravated the ankle. Maybe if I wear it, that will help. I do think that overall, loosening things up a bit will go a long way to reducing the injuries I’ve been experiencing. Being flexible, is just as important, as the strength conditioning I’ve been doing towards injury prevention down the line. Derek had made a comment about how tight hamstrings can be deteremential to lower back and ankle/achielles type of injuries. And that makes a lot of sense. Oh yea, and yesterday, I also bumped my pushups up to 30 in the morning. That’s pretty cool, and a really good thing. Considering I started at 20 not that long ago. We’ll see how it feels today. The plan there is, to do 30 per day now, until 30 seems too easy, and then we’ll bump it up 35.
