Well, yesterday was a pretty mixed bag of stuff. Some good and some bad. Definitely had a bit of tiger blood flowing through the veins and still have a bit of it going through this morning. Ended up being the first one in the house to wake up this morning, which is a bit unusual. Actually, it’s totally unusual, as I never get up before everyone in the house . . . at least not mon-friday I don’t. But, today I did. I’m going to assume, it has to do with eating super healthy for like 28 days now, and going to sleep at a decent time last night. Although, the weight doesn’t seem to be coming off, which is a bit annoying, and if anything, it seems to be wanting to be creeping up a bit. I’m probably eating too many fruits? I’m not even sure about that. I’m pretty sure, I’m around 100 grams of carbs per day still, but I suppose the fact that I haven’t worked out much in the last week and a half of so. This shoulder has been bothering me still, and I’ve been rather enjoying the down time a bit, as it’s been giving my body a bit of a chance to recover. I did go out last night, and do some footwork drills, which lasted about 20 minutes. Which is about all I can stand of doing that shit. They are boring as hell, and I really don’t like doing them. They’re hard, and very tiring. But ultimately good for me and my game I suppose. The last time I did them, which was exactly a week ago last Tuesday, I had the worst squash butt the next day. But, today, I don’t seem to have that problem. At least not right now at the moment. The one crappy thing that happened yesterday, was that Mark (Darling) said he was sick, and didn’t think he could make it league this Thursday night. Which is really a pisser, given, that we’re already missing David from the team who’s in Florida on vacation, and my shoulder being still pretty shaky, makes me a bit weak for the night. So, if Mark can’t play, then I’m going to have to sub Tony in, and that weakens us further. This is the quarter finals for fucks sake. Sudden death elimination. If we lose here, we’re done for the season. I can’t believe this is happening. Jesus people . . . get your crap together. I’m hoping Mark will be feeling better come tomorrow, but who the fuck knows. It’s all a crap shoot. Any ways, enough crying over that crap. I did do some good writing again yesterday. Still not a daily habit, but better. I think the reading of other peoples work is helping with the situation. I’m, finding, that the competition for good stuff in my genre is not all that tough. I think, if I can actually get my shit finished, and start cranking the words out on a more regular basis, then I should be in pretty good shape. There is some really bad writing out there. So getting to the writing, there are a few things that I would like to do here now. I would like to try and work through parts of my story. At the moment, I’ve got Chaz, deserting the army, and driving cross country to search for his family. It’s give me a bit of opportunity to do some back story for him, and his motivations, but I’m struggling with perspective again. 1st person vs 3rd person, vs me just dumping a bunch of information on the reader. I need to work on that a bit. I think, I need for Chaz to pick up a hitch hiker or something along the way for him to talk to about all this. Instead, of just laying the words out there. Or not. I’m not really sure how to approach that. Maybe, I should check the “Selling Writer” book, and see if he has anything to say on the subject. He should. Or, just do a bit of reading around the web. Either way, I’m finding, that what I though was going to be one intro scene where Chaz looks for his family and finds them move on, has already exploded to almost 4000 words. And, at the rate I’m going, could end up being closer to 5000 by the time I’m done. I can’t seem to keep my scenes short. Or, maybe, because it’s the intro, and I’m trying to lay a lot of info out to get started. Don’t know, but I do need to get this shit done.
