A little slow off the mark, but what the hell, yesterday was a good day and hoping today turns out just as well. Yesterday was a pretty good day for a few reasons. One, not only was it my 4th day in a row, writing over 1000 words on the novel, but I managed to actually break the 2000 word mark for the first time in a while. 2060 words actually. I’m beginning to feel that the Anthony Robbins tapes are becoming a bit superfulous, not that I’m writing on a more steady basis. Not to get too excited too early though, it’s barely been a week, and I know for a fact that 30 days is the minimum I need to get to for this to be an official new habit. But, I’m well on the way. We’re off to a friggin swim meet in Toronto and Milton, which I’m not to excited about, but what the hell. I suppose, my ankle/achilles could use a break from squash for a few days. I’ve been icing the achilles like crazy for the last few days, and it seems to be helping. Yesterday, I managed to play a good match for league, beating Rob Rice in 5 at 11-9 in the fifth, and a goose egg for me to top it all off, but with a little help from tylenol, the achilles wasn’t concerning me during the play. I don’t really like doping myself prior to a match, but it actually felt pretty good for most of the day, and I figured the tylenol would take the edge off it, so at least I wouldn’t be thinking about it during the match. It did work. Although, a number of my matches lately have been a struggle in the early games. I keep making a lot of mental mistakes. I need to focus a bit more on having fun with the early match, instead of trying to win so badly. Maybe just hitting a lot of lobs and perhaps some easy length to get started, without worrying so much about getting off to a great start. The wins will come. Your physical fitness is getting there (in spite of the celebaratory chocloate you indulged in last night after squash), you just need to relax your brain a bit when going into the match. Be focused, but make it fun as well … you can do that. Overall last night, was a good showing for the team we were the 3rd place team going in, and we’re playing the number 1 team (Rob Rices team) that was 8 points ahead of us in the standing. We beat them 16-8, which will tie us for first place overall I think. That is assuming, that the second place team (that pathetic Athletic Club team) lost to the FF-C team, which I’m really hoping they did, since the had to play FF-C on those ridiculous courts out there. Anyways. Today I’m definitely a little late getting started, and getting a little too focused on my PS3 games. There are a bunch of good ones on sale on the PSN (playstation network), the I think I’m going to have to buy. I played a bunch of the new Bioshock Infinite, that I get free with my PSN membership yesterday, and it was really cool. I’m hoping, that playing a few more games, gives some creativitiy juice to my brain, that I can leverage in my novel writing. Or at least, get my mind in a more creative space to do writing. Or, maybe it is ,that I just like play games too much . . . hell YA! of course I do. Fuck it, just go with it, and see where it takes you. Speaking of writing, I kind of got my heroes, through a rather intesnse few scenes, and I’m not too sure where to go next. Well, I know where they’re going. They’re going to Fort Knox with the cure for the world of course. But I’m still a bit undecided as to whether to just skip ahead a bit and get them there. Or to do a bit of charcter building, and release the tension a bit. Probably a good idea, as the pacing has been a bit intense as of late. That’s probably a really good idea. Do a bit of character building, then skip ahead and get them to Fort Knox, and see what happens there. Haven’t really thought that one through yet, but it could be an interesting piece. There will probably be some conflict with the girl, given what she is.
