Morning Pages Entry – June 08, 2014

Freedom is the holy grail being chased at the moment, and that’s a pretty big carrot to dangle in the balance of this writer. Making something so big out of something so small like writing can be as powerful as a paralyzing death ray from an old buck rogers episode. There, now was that so hard? You just wrote something so clever and amusing, and you didn’t really care. No one will read it … likely, and no one will ever care. Probably even if they did read it, they wouldn’t get it, so whatever. It’s time to write more like that. Just write, like your writing your morning journal pages, and let it all wash over you like it doesn’t really matter. Your writing really is, at it’s best when you just write for the sake of writing. Plot out something funny, then just fill in the blanks. No big deal. No big fuss. It’s it’s own best medicine. Trust me, you’ll feel better for it. So, no more writing about writing. Go read about writing, and read more about life, and read other stories, and just plain have fun with it … without the guilt … fuck the guilt. There’s no reasons for it really. Read everything, and write as much as you can without the downer shit. And be prolific. Write lots, and have fun with it, and get into the charcters and be in the moment and all that shit. So, to be more specific just write … or whatever. Focus and write. Write! So, were still at the swim meet here in Brock, one more session, and then we’re done. That’s fine. I wouldn’t mind another laptop that’s a little more portable then this one. That 11 inch dell ultrabook 3000 that I was looking at looks pretty cool. It would be nice, to just pick it up, and go somewhere and write. I like the idea of going and doing whatever. Go be alone in a crowd somehwere and make a scene … ha! See that’s funny again. Make a scene … get it? Sure you do, you wrote it. Make a scene. I like that author I found on the Kindle boards yesterday called StevenCampbell. Sure, initially, I just read him, because he had the same name as my brother (different spelling), but he’s a pretty witty guy, and all his responses on the boards seemed intelligent, which is not something you find there very often. A lot of those writers are all kind of touchy feely and sort of illogical at times. He’s funny, smart, and cuts to the matter of the matter, so to speak. I like that. It feels kind of warm in here today, but I think, that’s likely just me. Eating too much fruit and nuts yesterday, that’s for sure. I think, I could go with eating a little less stuff today. Although I’m still compliant with the whole30 and everything I ate yesterday, I certainly wasn’t ideal with the plan. Way too many nuts and fruits. Will have to do better with that today, which shouldn’t be too bad, since we are heading home today. Time to ice up the cooler, and load it up with food, and hit the road again … eventually. Still have a few hours of swim meet to content with. Wait wait wait. If you had a little skinny laptop, you could likely get around all that though couldn’t you. It might, even be an ideal environment for you to work in. Yesterday, down at the end of that hallway, I think, I could have likely written forever … in the refuge. That’s your zone. Somewhere in public, but kind of hidden from view. You certainly feel comfortable. It kind of goes back to one of your earliest college memories, where you were sitting in one of those chairs at the end of hallway, dreaming about creating the world for the perfect video game … little did I know, that I had unwitingly signed up for a college program that was all about business. Business …YECK! Apart of course, from the obvious aspect of making lots of money, who really cares about a business program. Computers are cool, and games are cool, and world building are cool, but why throw business into the mix. It’s kind of funny, but that “refuge” sign you took a picture of yesterday, could easily have been pointing to that very spot at Lambton College where you dreamed of that world. Your just living it backwards in time, like an episode of Dr Who. Increase your vocabulary. That would be a cool thing to do as well. If your going to write, you should be well armed afterall.
